0600 - wake-up call for a pre-breakfast outing at 0630. Dry landing on Bartolomé Island for walk to the top - 372 steps! This is a satellite island just off Santiago Island. Wonderful view of Pinnacle Rock and the two beaches. Grasshopper and Lizard seen here. Not much wildlife. Back on board for breakfast by 0800.

0915 - off via Panga to beach for walkers followed by glass bottom boaters (MJ) and then snorkelers (JT). A brief walk from one beach to the other. Ghost Crabs on the beach. Glass bottom boat and snorkeling not as good because the water was murky. The beach here was called "golden".
While we ate lunch, the Polaris sailed to Puerto Egas on Santiago. At 1500 there was snorkeling and swimming off the beach - this one was black sand and the water was rough. This was followed by a LONG walk on Santiago Island along dirt paths and across lava. Saw Lava Heron, Wandering Tattler, Least Sandpiper, Yellow-crowned Night Heron, Ruddy Turnstone, Semi-palmated Plover, Magnificent Frigate Bird and Blue-footed Booby.
