Florida trip - March 2005 - birds seen

To escape from what is looking like an endless winter, and to refresh our memories of the wonderful birding in Florida, we drove to the East coast, near the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

As usual, click on any image to see a larger version. If that does not work, click the gray blob under the image

Pictures were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 [digital] at fine resolution and for the most part maximum zoom (it has a 9:1 zoom lens). I used PMView Pro (in eCS [OS/2]) to crop, sharpen if needed, adjust brightness and contrast, and to make the reduced size thumbnails.

These pictures are from the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge(Peacocks Pocket road and Black Point Wildlife Drive); the White Heron is from Ulumay Wildlife Preserve.
